The World is My Home - the Life of Paul Robeson
Hello family ,friends, acquaintances and the like...It is that time of the year when we (Da African Village) bring an educational production to Martha's Vineyard. I am excited for this year's production of The world is my home -The life of Paul Robeson. This year we are dedicating a special performance to the youth of the island and I need your help to make it happen. I am asking ALL friends to donate at least the cost of one ticket to give an opportunity to a child to experience this wonderful production ! So please be selfless and GIVE ! Go to the purchase tickets section and put in the number you wish to donate or go to the donate button and make a generous contribution. Thank you in advance.
Stogie Kenyatta brings a unique interpretation where he captures the essence of Robeson. Portraying 14 characters he chronologically takes us thru the life of history's first Black renaissance man. Powerful, poignant, entertaining & educational, the show celebrates "our" common Humanity. From the horrors of the Slave Trade, to the shame of the Holocaust. Robeson shows us that in spite of our differences; we still have more in common than we do in conflict. This laff out loud, music filled show with audience participation, call outs, covers his friendships with Albert Einstein, Dubois, & many others who contributed to the cultural movement known as the Harlem Renaissance. This show; like Robeson's life; serves as a Cultural Ambassador inspiring us to greater achievement & a more noble life.
