2ND ANNUAL MR. & MISS A-TOWN SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT
THE A-T.O.W.N. CLUB, which is an acronym for “Attending To Others Wants & Needs”, is a non-profit organization developed for the well being and continued success of African American students and youth in the Metro-Atlanta area. It is the vision of this club and its members and participants to create an awareness and better understanding of the numerous activities, opportunities, and historic nature of Atlanta. This is done through the hosting of community service events, innovative programming, and other heart felt activities designed to create a greater appreciation for the city in which we call home.
In the spring of 2011, we set out to create a vehicle of service and scholarship on our campus thus leading to the inaugural Mr. & Miss A-TOWN Scholarship Pageant. It is the mission of the scholarship pageant to not only enhance awareness of the organization’s mission but to promote student leaders as active representations of our organization’s that support our ideals, beliefs and vision in the community. The recipients of this scholarship and title are student leaders that exhibit poise, confidence and intelligence.
