Jyoti Hench - Piano Recital
St. Elizabeth Seton Concert Series presents:
Dr. Jyoti Hench, piano
Jyoti Hench is an independent piano teacher and clinician, and has presented workshops for music teachers at local, regional, and national levels. Presentation highlights for 2012 include the Music Teachers’ Association of California State Convention in July and the College Music Society National Conference in November.
Dr. Hench has taught pre-college piano students in her own independent studio as well as in children’s programs at Sacramento State University and the University of Oklahoma. She has also taught group piano, applied piano, and piano pedagogy at the collegiate level and worked for two seasons as rehearsal pianist for Sacramento Opera. She holds degrees from the University of California at Santa Cruz, Sacramento State University, and the University of Oklahoma. Her doctoral research involved the creation of a performance psychology activity workbook for six- to twelve-year-old pianists and their teachers. She lives in San Marcos, California with her husband and their baby daughter.
? Repertoire to include: Scarlatti sonatas, Granados' The Maiden and the Nightingale, Chopin Barcarolle, and Poulenc's Les Soirees de Nazelle. The concert will be about 1 hour.
