The King's Counterpoint opens their 2019-2020 Concert Season with The Remarkable Mr Henry Purcell - an incredible event featuring verse anthems, odes, and songs for the countertenor and soprano voices.

Born in 1659, Henry Purcell (1659-95) was the finest and most original composer of his day. Though he was to live a very short life, he was at the forefront of the renewed flowering of music after the Restoration of the Monarchy. Join KPC and our very special guests, internationally-renowned countertenor Charles Humphries, organist Nigel Potts, and members of The North Carolina Baroque Orchestra, as we bring the music of this incredible English composer to Charleston audiences - and with one concert only, you definitely don't want to miss out!
