March for the Memorial 5K

Frankfort, KY - A five kilometer run/walk through the downtown Frankfort is scheduled for 28 June 2014 at 7:30 pm. The timed event provides medals to the overall top male and female finishers, as well as first place medals for those that finish first in each age/gender group. Every registrant has the chance to win sponsor donated gifts through several drawings. The cost for age eleven and up is twenty-five dollars and just five dollars for ages five to ten. The registration fee includes your bib number, a military inspired t-shirt and a gift bag. Register now to take advantage of this discount. Race day registration is offered, however the prices will increase after 20 June to $30 for ages 11 and up. *Ages 5-10 price does not include t-shirt or chip timer; t-shirts will be available for youth participants on a first come basis for an additional $10.
Race day regsitration will begin at 4:30pm on-site.
Besides the opportunity to participate in the run, the event is hosting a Sit & Sip area post-5K where participants may enjoy alcoholic beverages, listen to music and eat!
About the KYNG Memorial
Since 1912, thousands of men and women have served in the Kentucky National Guard. Hundreds of them have perished - some on foreign battlefields, some on missions here in KY to save fellow citizens from danger and disaster and some perished training to accomplish their missions. They each took a sacred vow to protect us from enemies, foreign and domestic. Now it's your turn. Step forward and help us honor their sacrifices, Soldiers and Airmen never die until they are forgotten.
The memorial is being constructed at the entrance of Boone Center in Frankfort, KY. It will create a sacred space for families, friends, and comrades to reflect and remember. It will serve as a classroom for those wishing to learn about service to the state and the nation as well as the cost of freedom. The project is dependent upon private financial support from Kentucky citizens, corporations and foundations. One-hundred percent of the proceeds raised from the KYNG March for the Memorial will go towards funding the memorial.
Waiver
I verify that I have read, understand, and accept the terms of this waiver and release. My purchase of a ticket(s) shall act as my legal signature. I understand the nature of this event and the risks involved in participating in this event. I know that running and walking a race is a potentially hazardous activity. I understand that I should not participate unless I am medically able and sufficiently trained to do so. I agree to abide by any decision of any race official concerning my ability to safely complete this event. I assume all risks associated with my voluntary participation in this event, including, but not limited to, traffic and other conditions of the roads, falls and contact with other participants, and the effects of the weather, including extreme temperatures and precipitation. Knowing these facts, for, and in consideration of, my participation in this race, I for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, or anyone else who might claim on my behalf, covenant not too sure and fully release and discharge the KYNG Memorial Foundation, the city of Frankfort, race participants, race officials, workers, volunteers, and any and all officers, directors, employees and other representatives of the foregoing, and any successors or assigns of the foregoing, and hold and waive them harmless from and against ANY AND ALL actions, claims, injuries, demands, liabilities, loss, damage, or expenses, including but not limited to death, personal injury, and property damage, whether foreseen, arising out of, or in the course of, my participation in this event. The above has been read by all participants and by purchasing this ticket(s), I understand and agree with all of the terms of the waiver statement.
