Susie B. Holcomb Scholarship Luncheon

Susie Battle Holcomb, educator, author, and poet was the Mother of the Spirit of Elijah Kingdom Church in Fort Washington, MD.  For years she wrote the dramas that were performed at the church.  Many of her works were performed at area community colleges.  It is our hope to eventually raise enough money to publish her poem collection.  Mother Holcomb, as she was so fondly called, held copyrights on songs that she has written; some of which have been recorded. 

This scholarship was formed to assist young people who are interested in education and/or writing as a career.  Currently, every applicant receives a book scholarship but as funds increase, a generous literary scholarship will be offered.
