Dancing with the Locals
We have 8 couples all out to show us what they got and help raise some money to pay off the debt that the development of the fields on Treasure Island incurred.
The idea of the night is to make it as enjoyable as possible for everyone, the dancers, and agents and of course the audience whilst raising some money.
This year there are 8 couples all competing to be crowned the winners. For those of you that missed out on the event last year the night consists of two rounds that each couple dances, then the audience and judges have their say with votes and then a final round for the top three. Each couple are currently in dance rehearsal practicing for their debut.
We have changed the location to St Annes Hall in the Sunset for a number of reasons and the main one being the space, we were limited in the clubhouse last year and we don’t want to let that interfere with the running or the night, we want everyone to be able to see exactly what is happening up on the stage.
As well as learning to dance and choreograph some new moves the couples are all working with their agents to raise some money, so if you are asked please give generously – the couple that raise the most before the event get a head start on the votes and if its anything like last year it will get pretty competitive come the last dance!
The dancers are as follows: Paul Campbell, Darren McCauley, Pascal Finnerty, Mike Gallagher, Paul Kielt, John McCormack, Keelan McKinney, Paddy Mooney, Joan O’Neil, Kathy Grogan, Mary McKeever, Veronica Campbell, Katrina Duffy, Kelly Welsh, Helen Larkin, Kathlyn Quinn.
All have been paired up and are busy practicing every week but you will have to come and see on the night who has been paired up with who????????
This night is not to be missed, it will be all kicking off at 6.30pm in St.Annes Hall and admission will be $25 per person. A great night is expected with our ever entertaining MC Ger, interesting judges, memorable opening act, some great dance moves from our dancers and a surprise finale. The countdown is on and we look forward to seeing you all there.
