Kinetics Dance Theatre’s Apprentice, Senior, Junior and Kinetics Kids Companies will present “Spectrum!” on Saturday, April 18th at the Howard County Center for the Arts, featuring several modern dance pieces, a classical ballet pas de deux, an improvisational solo, and musical theater dance, in addition to a Bollywood finale choreographed by guest choreographer Jaya Mathur. "Spectrum!" is sure to captivate audiences of all ages.
Among the works being presented, the show will feature a solo performed by Ani Kassian-Howard, who was recently awarded one of the top 12 dancers in the contemporary division at Boston’s Youth America Grand Prix, an international ballet competition. The solo is about a music box ballerina escaping from her life as a doll, featuring choreography by Erin Gum.
Other notable works are, “Surf’s Up,” choreographed by Meagan Singleton, a fun musical theater piece about having fun in the summer with your friends; “Beltane,” a ritual group piece featuring intricate choreography and unique gestures choreographed by Alex J. Krebs; and “Elijah Rock,” a powerful modern dance spiritual about preparing for the Promised Land with choreography by Becca Sigmund.

Kinetics Dance Theatre is a non-profit organization in its 31st year dedicated to the development and presentation of contemporary dance as a living art form to the community. The organization is hosts a School of Contemporary Dance that dedicates itself to promoting the development of technique alongside artistry. Kinetics Dance Theatre also hosts a resident professional dance company, Kinetics Dance Company, as well as four student companies comprised of dancers grades 4-12.
