Formerly, a traditional English Blues band, Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967. While the band had modest success it was launched into superstardom with the addition of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, both Californians, in 1974. The new lineup established the band as one of the top bands of the 1970’s. With the release of “Rumours” Fleetwood Mac quickly rose to become one of the best loved and highest grossing acts of all time.
The two female members of Fleetwood Mac, Christine McVie, and new comer, Stevie Nicks captivated audiences with their strong vocals and feminine rock sensibilities. However, no one was more mesmerizing than Stevie Nicks with her bohemian sense of style and mysticism that flowed through every performance. Soon, Stevie Nicks‘ star began to shine so brightly that, while still working with Fleetwood Mac,she launched her highly successful solo career. The 1980 release “Bella Donna” is among the top sellers of all time and firmly established Nicks as a songwriter and artist in her own right.
The Los Angeles based Tribute Concert Show,’Bella Donna‘, has faithfully captured the essence and spirit of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks since 2002. Among other accolades, Atlantic Records former CEO, Jerry Greenberg called ‘Bella Donna‘, “The Closest thing you can get to Stevie Nicks!”. Praised and personally greeted by Stevie Nicks soon after she heard a ‘‘Bella Donna’‘ performance, the band is the only tribute to have received this high level of recognition. Nicks commented to lead singer Michelle Tyler, “..You sound great, just let me know whenever you want to take over!”
