This year Tyler will be graduating from High School and has asked for those coming to celebrate, and pay it forward to the next generation of kids on the Autism Spectrum. I found these camps with much research and am absolutely positive, the Tools we learned at these non profit support programs changed our lives, and have gotten him (and mom) through some long hard years.
In first grade, Tyler's teacher filled us with a lot of "He will never" i.e, make friends, drive, be able to function in society.
The road is long, hard, unsupported, exhausting, ugly and lonely.... but look what stands before us. A young man graduating with a great SAT score and entering Gordon College Psychology program in the Fall. His goal is to help kids like him. Tyler is an amazing advocate and leader at his Christian Youth Group, bringing in kids who were never introduced to God and changing their lives. Showing them their is love and acceptance in this world, at our dinner table and in a Christian Community. Let's not forget, he can rip a guitar and will do so once again for us with his friends THE BEER NUTS
It truly takes a village ! As these years have passed, and our village becomes grandparents, uncles and parents of Autistic children, more people know how to be a friend to the parent, to the child. The goal continues TO BE THE CHANGE
You never Know when Autism will affect your village, and I am here to help you. No parent should have to walk this scary road alone.
Come play, Celebrate and we'll get funds to more families to attend these awesome programs!
