The Wall of Remembrance:
This August 25th-28th, the CT Friends of Veterans, Inc. will bring the Global War on Terror " Wall of Remembrance" to West Hartford's Town Hall Green, 50 South Main Street, for a salute to Connecticut Veterans.
This memorial currently has just under 11,000 names of fallen heroes, and victims from the Global War on Terrorism. The timeline on this wall covers Beirut,Desert Shield,Desert Storm,Somalia,Bosnia,U.S.S. Cole, 9/11/2001, Afghanistan(OEF,OFS), Iraq(OIF,OND&OIR), Ft.Hood TX,Benghazi, Boston MA,Chattanooga TN, and San Bernardino.
The unique part of this wall is that names will continue to be added to it until the U.S Government declares the Global War on Terrorism Campaign to be closed.
There will be various ceremonies, programs and performances over this four-day event all dedicated to honoring all of our veterans and those serving our nation presently.
All funds raised will go towards the expenses of bringing the Wall to West Hartford.
