Premiere of Feature Film “Hobo Heyseus”
The Film Salon hosts premier of Upstate New York Director’s new film.
The feature film “Hobo Heyseus” will have its New York City premier August 9, 2016 at The Medicine Theater, 539 West 52nd St. NY, NY 7:00PM . Tickets are available at the door for $10.00. Honored at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival and the upcoming Hoboken International Film Festival, Hobo Heyseus is making a name for itself on the East Coast.
The Film Salon conceived and curated by Don Rittner and Justyna Kostek aims to show independent movies produced or directed by New York State based filmmakers. Filmmakers will be in attendance and a Q&A session will follow the screening.
Director, Jon Russell Cring, with his wife, Tracy Cring have made eighteen films together. The duo teamed up with Troy, NY screenwriter Joshua Owens, to collaborate on writing a classic anti-hero tale. Homeless drifter, Heyseus, tries to reconnect an out of touch town through odd philosophies and unconventional deeds. He finds a lonely old man, a curious teenager, a homeless family, a fragile waitress and a listless drunk; and promises to make their lives better in just seven days.
The film stars H.B. Studios trained, New York City Actor, Raymond Turturro. Christin Roman, Kenneth McGregor, and Theodore Bouloukos, all New York City Actors formed a fierce ensemble. Manhattan based Director of Photography Nathaniel Kramer shot the movie on RED Epic cameras with vintage lenses to give it a vintage milk glass feel.

Born in Columbus, Ohio to creative powerhouse parents, Jon grew up around the arts. His interest in film, besides rabid fandom, began when he met his future wife and muse Tracy Nichole. Writing a variety show together, STREETWALKING, an unstoppable team was born. Jon Russell has Directed television series, seventeen feature films and countless short films; accumulating honors from PBS, International Film Festivals, and landing world-wide distribution for many.
