Join us for a holiday classic, with a contemporary twist! Kinetics Dance Theatre's Student and Apprentice Dance Companies present a contemporary rendition of "The Nutcracker on Saturday and Sunday, December 10th and 11th at 7pm. Kinetics Dance Theatre's The Cracked Nut uses ballet, modern and contemporary dance styles to tell the story of Clara and her journey to the magical Land of the Sweets. This show is especially great for families with young children, both boys and girls. The show will run approximately an hour in length.
In The Cracked Nut, Clara, performed by Delaney Lane, attends a dance class and holiday party with all of her friends at her studio. While waiting for her parents to pick her up from the party, Clara falls asleep and her dreams transport her through the snowfall to the classic Land of the Sweets, only with a few surprises! Join us in an evening filled with adventure, mystery, and delight in this magical new world. After the show will be a Land of the Sweets reception with hot cocoa and a meet and greet with the dancers.
As a non-profit organization, we are devoted to the development of contemporary dance as a vital art form within the community through performance, education, and outreach. Kinetics student companies are comprised of four student companies with dancers in fourth through twelfth grades. The companies are directed by Heinz Adjakwah, Erin Gum, Alex J. Krebs and Becca Sigmund. The show will also feature guest choreography by Meagan Singleton.
