A four-piece band from the Triangle area of North Carolina, Old State Travelers combine a soulful blend of folk, country, blues, bluegrass and gospel. Kevin Michael Thompson and Shannon McLaughlin initially formed the group with the intent of being an old-time string band. However, when they began playing together as a four-piece it was quickly apparent that the music wanted to go in another direction. Each member of Old State Travelers has a unique background and musical outlook.
