Rise

Sound and Spirit's choir presents a show sure to stir the soul, invigorate the mind and animate the spirit as they sing their way through rallying songs of revolution and perseverance, encouraging the spirit to RISE! The concert spotlights songs from the box office hit Hamilton and enlivening “message” songs like Shrek the Musical’s “Freak Flag” that boisterously proclaim “what makes us special, makes us strong”.  The program features a wide variety of genres from Broadway to Choral songs and contemporary selections, that range from a large choral adaption of Morricone’s Gabriel’s Oboe called “Angele Dei” to Bob Dylan classic, “Blowin in the Wind” and bridging to contemporary reggae artist Matisyahu’s “One Day”. Invigorating numbers like “I Sing the Body Electric” and “Pride: In the Name of Love” as well as “Do You Hear the People Sing” will also inspire you and have you singing along.
