JUNGLE BOOK TALES!
On Sunday, March 5th, Kinetics Dance Company presents its original production, "Jungle Book Tales,” in two performances only, featuring NEW characters, new sections, and re-worked choreography!
Artistic Director Lauren Tait blends modern dance with the Traditional Indian and Bollywood techniques of co-choreographer Jaya Mathur. With delightful music, elaborate costumes, and interactive features, the production brings to life the creatures of the Indian Jungle as described by Kipling in his beloved classic, The Jungle Book.
Children and adults alike will love meeting Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera, Shere Khan, and the other creatures of the jungle as they are portrayed by an ensemble of ten professional dancers!
Children’s and teen/adult dance workshops and an interactive “Meet the Cast” reception will be offered in conjunction with the performances.
Jungle Book Tales is part of Kinetics Dance Theatre’s Annual Family Concert Series, an initiative dedicated to making modern dance accessible to young audiences. Family Concert Series productions combine professional dance, sophisticated choreography, imaginative props, and vibrant costumes to result in a rich arts experience for the whole family.
Kinetics Dance Company is a professional modern dance company in residence at Kinetics Dance Theatre in Ellicott City, Maryland. A non-profit organization founded in 1984, KDT is devoted to the development of contemporary dance as a vital art form within the community through performance, education, and outreach.
