Please help support our second trip to Buffalo's Sister city - Bani, Dominican Republic. Last year we collected and donated 7500 pounds of used softball equipment to build a girls' softball league in Bani. In conjunction with the Akron Newstead Rotary Club, the Akron Central School Interact Club and school Alumni, have been invited to return to Bani to partner with the Elizabeth Seton Nutrition Center to build new classroom space at the facility. Originally founded in 1979 as a nutrition recovery program for malnourished young children, the Center is entirely locally run and non-sectarian, and is located in Lo Saona, one of the most impoverished barrios (neighborhoods) in Bani. Funds raised will help to offset the cost of travel for the students, in addition to covering a portion of the project costs.
