Hands Together To Make a Difference
On Sunday, 20 May 2012, the Haitian Association of Indiana (HAI) is celebrating the Haitian Flag Day in remembrance of May 18, 1803, day our first flag was created. The creation of the Haitian flag was one of the primary symbols of freedom, and source of pride from the Haitian Revolution.
While the flag incarnates the spirit of freedom and rebellion against mental and physical slavery, it symbolizes Unity, as expressed by the flag slogan "l'Union Fait la Force".
This year theme for our event, "hands together to make a difference", suits well the meaning of that date. The theme is a retrospect of who we are, strong, motivated, proud, capable to work together for a better Haiti.
Come and celebrate this day with us at Cityview Christian Center 1090 W. 23rd St. Indianapolis, IN 46208
ADMISSION IS FREE
It will start at 2pm.
It is a two part event. The first part includes,to say the least, a parade, singing and dance performances. The second part is a networking opportunity where we can all chat and eat flavorful Haitian food while listening to some music.
We will also have a raffle where the prizes are a 24"HDTV, a Tom Tom GPS, and a iPod shuffle. Raffle tickets will be sold during the event. If you want to buy your raffle ticket in advance, call us at 317-698-9096 or email us at contact@haindy.com
