Aspiring playwright Konstantin Treplev is debuting his new play at his uncle’s country estate with the girl he loves, Nina, as his leading actress. In attendance are his mother Arkadina, a celebrated actress, and her lover Trigorin, a famous writer. The reception of the play sets off a series of events unleashing passion, romance, and heartbreak. Challenging notions of structure, comedy, and subtext in theatre, Chekhov’s THE SEAGULL was his first theatrical masterpiece and endures as a testimony to the absurdity of the human condition. This production will be staged in-the-round; the actors have nowhere to hide. The production, directed by Ryan Nicotra, will close the 2012 season. The all-star cast includes Stacie Beard, Amy Parochetti, Brandon Beatty, Vince Seadler, Kayleigh Daniels, Dustin Horsman, Paul Seadler, Jennifer Hasselbusch, and Eric Bailey. Erin Curran will return as Stage Manager.
