On April 18th, Douglas Collins and his passenger Brian McLean JR had their lives drastically altered when a vehicle abruptly crossed center line of the highway, and lodged into Collins truck head-on.
Both victims were transported to trauma centers; one by air support and one by ambulance with critical injuries.
Brian has since been released while Douglas remains hospitalized to undergo a series of surgeries.
Since the accident, expenses have piled up for Collins, McLean JR and their families. The injuries that Collins suffered were extensive and suggest that he will be dealing with his injuries and recovery deep into the future. These expenses are significant in both a financial and emotional sense.
Both Collins and McLean JR were employed full time as mechanics at a local garage.
Now, the community is stepping in to help out. A fundraiser is being held on June 8th at Logan Ridge Estates to benefit both of the victims and their families of the crash by covering some of the expenses that have accumulated and will continue to accumulate.
Please help them to navigate through this unexpected time. If you would like to donate items for the auction or a general donation, information can be found below and we all thank you in advance.
