Black Love
Sashagay Watt, a devout member of the Black
Student Union, established Black Love in February 2016. The event's purpose is
to celebrate Black Culture in music, dance, poetry, and other fields of
entertainment to convey Black History but also highlighting Black Talent. The
showcase is done annually, and is open to the entire Delhi Community. This
year’s annual ceremony features performances by students of all ages and genders.
This year’s celebration is even more grand and unique from the previous years. The
celebration will entail a mixer section for the “Young Black & Talented”,
this section is for individuals with different skills, such as makeup, fashion,
hair, and more. Following the “Young Black & Talented” section, we will
then begin the actual showcase of “Black Love” which will be filled with many
intricate performances. This year the B.S.U will create a scholarship for
minority individuals to help relieve the financial burden of attending college,
which will be through the SUNY Delhi College Foundation. I hope that you will
participate in the showcase for the Black Student Union “Umoja” Scholarship
