EHTVF (East Hampton TV Festival)
The First Annual East Hampton TV Festival (EHTVF)
will open on July 22 to 23, 2019, in East Hampton, New York, at Guild Hall’s John Drew Theater. A VIP Opening Reception and Closing Award Ceremony and Reception will bookend the two days of events and screenings.
The inaugural East Hampton TV Festival will introduce the most innovative and new TV programming from around the world to an audience of TV industry professionals and the public on the East End in the summer.
Attending will be actors, directors, producers and the personalities of the documentary films.
The event will feature screenings of thirteen shows and documentary films made for TV from Canada, Germany, Austria, Spain, France and the United States. There will be panels touching on important topics in television.
EHTVF founder Roberto Rizzo says, “A TV Festival is an imperative necessity in this new era of TV. NETFLIX has changed the way we interact with television. I created the East Hampton TV Festival to give new talented filmmakers a place in the Hamptons to showcase their work and to establish the East Hampton TV Awards.”
Actor Rebecca Knox (“Orange is the New Black”), who was raised and resides part-time in East Hampton, will kick off the opening night. Her film, “Cavity,” a screenplay that she wrote and stars in, also will be screened along with four other shows that evening.
Singer-songwriter and actor Ameliarose Allen (“American Idol”), will perform on opening and closing nights.
Four documentaries explore fine artists and art institutions. Artist Marcus Jansen, the subject of one of the EHTV documentary films, “Marcus Jansen- Examine and Report” -- who is influenced by the AbEx and Graffiti genres, is one of the artists attending.
