Katie will teach a hands on tying class designed for tiers that are just beginning their tying journey or for folks who would like a refresher on tying fundamentals. Students can bring their own vice and tying tools or by letting us know ahead of time, FTG will provide a loaner vice and tools for the class. Materials will be provided

Dutch will be introducing and overviewing the FTG Fly Tying Instructors Program. This is a new offing from FTG to assist Fly Tying Instructors with being better Fly Tying Instructors. A very indepth set of library materials has been developed to assist instructors in all aspects of Class development, structure and collateral. Dutch will overview the content that has been developed and the plans for rolling out the program to anyone that is interested in being a better Tying Instructor. It will also have content for Demonstration Tiers as well.

Jack Gillis will provide an Overview of the FTG Fly Tying Awards program (Bronze, Silver, Gold) which will include a review of the program requirements, the documentation available and an overview of the review process such that the attendee should have all the information required to begin their learning journey thru the program.

Chris Johnson is the owner of Living Waters Fly Shop in Roundrock, Tx, one of Whiting Farms largest distributors of Whiting products. Chris will be covering information on hackle such as: Why do good feathers matter when fly tying? What does the “grade” of a hackle signify? What is the difference between a cape and a saddle? We will answer these questions and SO many more during this in-depth Hackle class. Plus, you’ll learn the intricacies of each genetic line and how best to integrate them into your tying. If you’re a fly tyer, you won’t want to miss it!

Rocky will be leading a hands on Tying class (students will need their own vice and tools, materials will be provided) featuring Intermediate tying patterns. This is not a beginners tying class.
