The second installment in KCP's new Annual Concert Series, “Israel in Egypt” is a Baroque masterpiece - An oratorio in three parts, featuring Baroque orchestra, choir, and soloists!
Premiering in April of 1739, “Israel in Egypt” is a magnificent work that follows the story of the Israelites and their ultimate liberation from enslavement in Egypt - from the mourning of Joseph, Israelite and favored advisor to Pharoh, through the many plagues of Egypt and exodus of the Israelites, to the celebration of their deliverance!
Featuring a Baroque orchestra of trombones and tympani, soaring strings and soulful oboes, the KCP production of “Israel in Egypt” promises to be filled from beginning to end with wonderful music, powerful double choruses, and beautiful solos!
And for this incredible event, KCP is extremely excited to welcome back our very special guests, members of the The North Carolina Baroque Chamber Orchestra!
