Kristen Kelly, a Texas-born and raised singer-songwriter, has been captivating audiences with her powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics for years. She made a name for herself touring in her home state with the classic rock cover band Big Dave & The Freaks, and later in the duo Modern Day Drifters, which evolved into Kristen Kelly and the Modern Day Drifters. Kristen co-wrote “Down In Flames” with fellow TX Red Dirt artists/songwriters the late Brandon Jenkins and Stoney LaRue, and achieved her first Top 10 on the Texas Charts with “I Remember When,” earning her the TRRMA New Female Vocalist of the Year award in 2011.
Her talent caught the attention of Arista Nashville, leading to a major-label debut overseen by award-winning producer Tony Brown and Grammy-winning songwriter Paul Overstreet. Kristen's first single, “Ex-Old Man,” reached the top 30 on the Billboard charts, cementing her place as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country. She has performed on prestigious stages such as the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman, and has shared the stage with renowned artists including Wade Bowen, Cory Morrow, Eli Young Band, Dwight Yoakam, Gary Allan, Dierks Bentley, Alan Jackson, Sheryl Crow, Jake Owen, Little Big Town, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, and Willie Nelson. Her song “Ashes” was featured in the hit Netflix show "The Ranch."
Currently, Kristen is touring to promote her album ‘WARRIOR,’ released on February 16, 2024. The album includes tracks from her SONY album, plus two additional songs recorded during her time with ARISTA NASHVILLE. Fans can look forward to hits like “Ex-Old Man,” the show-stopping “He Loves To Make Me Cry,” and the highly anticipated “How Do You Sleep At Night” (co-written with Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally), which is the follow-up to her Billboard Top 30 hit single “Ex-Old Man.”
