Move for Mental Health Walk

Grab four friends and challenge yourself to move for mental health! Choose between the 2.5k, 5k or 1/2 marathon (13 miles) routes on the Dickinson County Trails for a walking adventure that will leave you feeling fabulous as you cross the finish line with your friends or family. The Move for Mental Health Walk will take place at 8 am on Saturday, August 26 starting at Tatanka Ska Trace Trailhead in Spirit Lake. The event is a team WALK for awareness - each team will be comprised for four people and proceeds will go to curriculum and speakers focused on mental health in the Dickinson County school systems. 

This event is about the journey, not the destination. We want you to move in a way that feels good, for both your body and your mind. We want you to enjoy a lakes morning, admire the scenery along the trails and connect with your teammates, We don't care if you go fast - we care that you stay together. We encourage teams to come up with a team name or dress up in a fun way - it's not required, but encouraged. Team registration fees vary by race length and include an event T-shirt for each participant, access to Love Stops (see below) and a walk medal upon completion. MUST REGISTER BY AUGUST 17 TO GUARANTEE GETTING A SHIRT!

The Iowa Great Lakes Rotary and the Dickinson County Behavioral Health Coalition (and our sponsors) will provide Love Stops along the way with snacks, hydration and encouragement, before you make it back to the finish line for some photos and fun. Local behavioral health providers will also have booths sharing more about resources that are available in our area.
