Join us for a celebration of the under-attributed, under-recognized, and under-performed choral works by women from the twelfth century to the twenty-first. Music performed on this concert spans the mystic, melismatic chant of Hildegard of Bingen, through the classical period with Marianna Martines' Dixit Dominus, to the recent work of Fresno Master Chorale's own composer Joungmin Sur and lyricist Glady Ruiz commissioned by the League of Women Voters, Fresno commemorating the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage. There will an exhibit in the lobby of 100 Notable Women from Fresno, sponsored by the League of Women Voters.
This concert will be presented without intermission in a single performance on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 2:30pm at the Shaghoian Concert Hall in Fresno.
