The Southeastern Council of Fly Fishers International is proud to offer a casting clinic hosted by the Georgia Women Fly Fishers and led by FFI Certified Casting Instructor Brian Deloach. We will work on techniques to improve your casting stroke. Instruction from 10-noon, with lunch/refreshments served after the clinic. This event is free and open to all FFI members (and affiliated club members). Whether you're an old salt with years of experience or someone who has never held a fly rod before, there will be something for everyone at this clinic. We will have FFI-certified instructors ready to assist you with all your angling goals whether it be accuracy, distance, or learning the basics. Bring your favorite fly rod, line, and reel. Practice leaders will be provided. If you don't yet own a fly rod, that is okay. We will have plenty of loaner rods available for you to use.
After lunch, there will be opportunities for casters to attempt to qualify for Bronze, Silver, or Gold designation in FFI's Fly Casting Skills Development (FCSD) program. Please visit this FFI page for more information on FCSD to see if you've got the skills to earn Bronze, Silver, or Gold! If you want to test for a casting skill award, please go to this signup link to reserve a testing spot and specify the level award you will be testing to receive (testing gets longer as the challenges get harder, so we need to plan time accordingly).
Lunch and drinks will be provided by Georgia Women Fly Fishers, but you should bring your own water to stay hydrated while we drill. This is a free event for members of Fly Fishers International, but spaces are limited so please register today. We hope to see you on September 28th at Garrard Landing!
