Tas Cru Band Live at Fanatics Pub in Lima, New York!
With five albums released in the last seven years, Cru's latest release, Riffin' The Blue, debuted in February 2023. The album was produced by Tas and recorded at Subcat Music Studios in Syracuse, NY. Tas enlisted the help of a few others, including Mike Zito (courtesy of Gulf Coast Records) and renowned keyboardist Bruce Katz. Riffin' has been receiving wide international airplay and has received praise from publications such as Living Blues and Blues Blast Magazine. Tas Cru is known for his expertise in the blues while refusing to be bound to one genre. With over 100 original songs from multiple albums and dozens of roots classics, he is one of the most unique musicians plying his trade today. Cru's album Simmered & Stewed received a Blues Foundation Blues Music Award nomination in 2018, and his following two albums, Memphis Song and Drive On, won Syracuse Area Music Awards for Best Blues Recordings. In 2021, his album Broke Down Busted Up was nominated for Best Acoustic Blues Album by Blues Blast Magazine and for the Modern Roots Album, Modern Roots Artist, and Content Creator Award by the Independent Blues Awards. Tas Cru is based out of Central New York and performs in multiple formats ranging from a six-piece backing band to solo acoustic. He has an eclectic style and plays a wide variety of guitars, including electric, acoustic, resonator, and cigar box. He sometimes adds a bit of harmonica into his performances. Cru grew up in a musical family and learned about the Sun Records sound and country blues from older, self-taught musicians. After leaving the US Navy, he was asked to join a band formed by a former shipmate, Delray Streeter, who was influential in his early exposure to rough-hewn blues. Today, Tas tours extensively throughout the US and internationally in Europe and Canada. He has performed and recorded with numerous blues luminaries and has recorded with contemporaries such as Mike Zito, Bruce Katz, Victor Wainwright, Anne Harris, and Anthony Geraci. Tas is an endorsed artist of Delaney Guitars (Austin TX) and is signed to Subcat Records, Syracuse NY. Cru is also a recipient of the Blues Foundation Keeping the Blues Alive Award in recognition of his blues education programs while on tour. Tas Cru is represented by Vinny Marini (Barrelhouse Talent – Personal Manager), Anne Bello Productions (Business Management), and exclusively in Europe by Martin Scheschonka (Electric Blues Bash).
