The Light in the Piazza

Rockford Christian Schools “Theatre Presents” opens the season with a one-night gala event featuring scenes and songs from The Light in the Piazza showcasing the vocal talents of current and former RCS students as well as some surprise guests!  Filled with sunshine and a summer breeze, this exhilarating musical follows the story of Margaret Johnson and her stunningly beautiful daughter, Clara, who are touring the Tuscan countryside in the mid-1950s. When Fabrizio, a dashing young Italian, captures Clara’s heart, her mother Margaret is compelled to reveal the secret about her daughter. She is forced to reconsider not only Clara's future, but her own hopes as well. This touching story by playwright Craig Lucas is coupled with an exquisitely beautiful score by Adam Guettel. Well known as one of the most elegant and charming musicals of the 21st century, you won't want to miss this premiere event!
