This is the first Level 1 for snowmobilers offered in Montana and one of the very few ever offered in the US. The course content comes from the American Avalanche Association guidelines. Terrain, Weather, Snowpack, Decision-Making and Rescue will all be covered.
Riders need to show up the first day of class with the pack they ride in with all their rescue gear. Everyone will be tested on using a beacon and assembling their gear quickly. Practice beforehand.
A detailed itinerary and pre-course materials will be emailed to all students in late December.
