THE BLOCKING DEAD: ROLLER GIRLZ, ZOMBIES,
and the LAST HOME BOUT of 2015
Fight the un-dead, fear the living and prepare for the hunt!
The final battle of the Gallatin Roller Girlz 2015 Home Season, The Blocking Dead, will take place Saturday, September 12 at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds’ Haynes Pavilion. The fifth bout of the season will pit GRG’s Mountain Mayhem against the Junction City Locomotives from Ogden, Utah.
Walkers and zombie hunters alike are encouraged to attend this Walking Dead-themed event. Costumed attendees 18+ get first crack at limited trackside seating (aka Suicide or Nose Bleed seats). A halftime costume contest will award a prize for best dressed!
This family- friendly event features food by Bubby’s, a no-host bar by Bar IX, raffles, games and prizes. Half-time entertainment is provided by Bridger Beat Cloggers. Music by DJ Jesse Gonzalez.
Tickets for The Blocking Dead are $8 in advance / $10 at the door – KIDS 10 and under enter for FREE! Advance sale tickets are available at Cactus Records and Gifts, at Tart in the Emerson and online at grgderby.com.
Doors open at 7pm, Bout starts at 7:30pm with the after party to follow at Bar IX. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Bozeman’s HRDC Warming Center, offering seasonal shelter to anyone in need. For more information visit, www.thehrdc.org.
The Gallatin Roller Girlz are a 501(c)3 federal non-profit and achieved WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) apprenticeship designation this past year. This bout is a ‘mock sanctioned’ WFTDA bout, part of the process required of the Gallatin Roller Girlz to become a full member WFTDA league, allowing for ranking at national and international level. This is the second time The Gallatin Roller Girlz have faced off against this well seasoned team from Ogden and both teams eagerly anticipate the rematch.
