Montana's Next Generation Conference 2017
Montana's Next Generation Conference, January 27 and 28, 2017, in Shelby, Montana will feature one day of business planning resources for the farm or ranch, and one day of production workshops. Friday, January 27, will feature Dave Pratt of the Ranching for Profit school. Dave will give both farmers and ranchers a fresh look at their agricultural operation, to see how to make it profitable enough to pass on to the next generation.
Saturday, January 30, will provide producers with nearly 40 workshop options covering crops and livestock production, financial management, record keeping, leasing, succession planning, and much more. Saturday's workshops will provide pertinent information for both the beginning and experienced producer, and counts as FSA Borrower Training as well.
Hosted by the Glacier and Toole County Farm Service Agency, local MSU Extension, Marias River Livestock Association and the Front Range Counties Farm Bureau, this comprehensive conference of succession planning and production workshops is one not to miss.
Friday's events will be held at the Shelby Civic Center (669 Park Avenue) and Saturday's events will be at the Shelby High School (1001 Valley St.) in Shelby, MT. This convenient location is just an hour and a half from both Great Falls and Havre, and has Amtrak service as well. Located at the crossroads of Highway 2 and I-15, Shelby makes a great host site!
