The Arts Council is offering two weekend panting workshops with three of the most renowned painters in the West! The workshops will be held August 5-6 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and take place at the Ophir Elementary School in Big Sky. Registration also includes an artist and participant reception on Friday, August 4, from 6-8 p.m. All levels of experience are welcome, though minimum age for participation is 16.
“Silk Painting” - A fun exploratory class using various ancient and modern applications in silk painting, including gold and clear gutta resist, “no flow” technique, wet-on-wet, dry brush, washes, detailing, and so forth. Instructors Nancy and Morgan Cawdrey will do short demonstrations to show the various techniques and sequence of silk painting, step by step. Participants will leave with 2-3 finished, frame-ready pieces. Workshop is for artists of all levels, from novice to professional. Workshop fee: $195 Materials fee: $15 (all materials provided)
