The 2nd Annual GK Philippine HOPE Ball

     The battle cry of Gawad Kalinga (translated means “to give care”) reverberates loudly especially so when calamities and adversities strike the Philippines, and leave the most vulnerable—the poor, the homeless, the destitute, usually on their own to rebuild their lives. Like in many calamities where Gawad Kalinga was first to respond, GK reaffirms its continued commitment by heading reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in Iligan, Cagaya de Oro and Dumaguete in the Philippines by building communities through the GK way of caring and sharing; bayanihan and padugo; heroism and excellence.?

     The 6000 families of Northern Mindanao who have been blessed now with roofs above their heads will need just a little bit more.

     The GK Hope Ball Campaign will provide the necessary elements that will complete the lives of the beneficiaries with provisions for food sufficiency, livelihood, education, health, environment, values formation and community building - the very same elements that distinguishes GK from among all other shelter programs.  In Gawad Kalinga, lives are transformed in their new community.
