Celebration for a Cause!
My name is Stacy Pearsall. I'm a disabled combat veteran from Operation Iraqi Freedom, and owner of the Charleston Center for Photography (CCP).
On May 1st, I'll be hosting a fundraising event, "Celebration for a Cause", to raise money for the Independence Fund. The Celebration will take place at The Citadel's Johnson Haygood Stadium in the Pearson Lounge on the 4th floor from 6:00-8:00 p.m. All proceeds I raise will go to the Independence Fund. The evening will boast heavy hors d'oeuvres, wine and beer, door prizes, photo booth, musical entertainment and a live auction that includes golf and sailing packages, exotic wines and vodkas, and fine art pieces and clothing.
Honorary guest, Sgt. Major Jesse Acosta, will talk briefly about his challenges as a wounded combat veteran blinded by a bomb explosion in Iraq, and how his experiences through the Independence Fund helped improve his quality of life. In addition to Jesse's extraordinary story, I'll also share my own story of life under fire, how I was wounded and my own challenges of survival and recovery.
I'd be honored if you'd join me at the Celebration as my special guest. If you cannot attend the Celebration, purchase a ticket anyway and we'll give it to a disabled veteran who can attend in your place!
