Saturday Night Jamboree-Mackinac Island Music Fest
Saturday Night Jamboree
Opening night, October 12th, Spartan Stores, Mission Point Resort & Radio Mackinac present the Saturday Night Jamboree feat. Delilah DeWylde and the Lost Boys with special guest Rachelle Risling at Mission Point Theatre.
Delilah Dewylde & the Lost Boys
A long time ago, at the dawn of the Atomic Age, a succession of no-good punks and ill-mannered teenagers took the best of American roots music — hard-partying honky tonk country, searing gutbucket blues and lonesome hillbilly twang — and distilled it into a potent moonshine known as rockabilly. This combustible formula, passed down through the generations, forms the heart of the revved-up stylings of Delilah DeWylde and The Lost Boys.
Rachelle Risling
Rachelle holds an Associate (ARCT) from the Royal Conservatory of Music, a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Music in Piano Chamber Music from the University of Toronto. She studied with the renowned pianist, Marietta Orlov in Toronto. Before relocating to Sault Ste. Marie she taught piano in Toronto. She is a very active perfomer in Sault Ste. Marie as a member of the Tres Chic Piano Trio with violinist Vanessa Mio and cellist Claire Burrows, and as a member of various jazz ensembles. She is also an active accompanist and in the summer is the sessional music director of the Little Stone Church on Mackinac Island. While she is an accomplished classical pianist, Rachelle is incredibly accomplished on the upright bass, contemporary piano as well as a fabulous vocalist focusing on folk, rock and country music and has been performing at folk festivals across Northern Ontario and the Upper Midwest.
