Ridin' For The Brand

We are transported to the middle of the rough and raw beauty of Montana’s landscapes and people by Bozeman Film Maker Stephanie Alton.   Alton shares her passion for the rancher’s way of life and in it reveals how that lifestyle is being endangered by outside pressures of lost grazing, environment and Government over regulation.  

Flickers of city folk showing how disconnected they are from their food sources and the reality of the cowboys life display the need for there to be more connection between the city and the farm.

Duane Mothershead, one of the multigenerational ranchers Alton follows in the film drawls his dedication to the land and livestock as they are all he has ever known.   It is all he has ever lived for.  We hear him describe his concern for the losses that whole communities suffer when a rancher loses his grass.

Teton CattleWomen  and Marias River Livestock Association invite you to come chat with Stephanie Alton over a few beers and Hors D’oeruvres prior to the viewing  of her film “Ridin’ For The Brand.”  After the film  Stephanie Alton, the film Producer, Lisa Schmidt, Prairie Ponderings writer   and Ryan Goodman, Agricultural Proud blogger and winner of the 2013 Communicator of the Year award, presented by Alliance to Feed the Future and CropLife America,  will be on hand to answer questions and share thoughts about the film.
