2014 International Metal Detecting Day-Midwest
On Saturday, May 17th, join Minelab for the 3rd Annual Go Minelabbing, International Metal Detecting Day!
Come out to meet with Minelab Americas staff as we will have a day of activities for Minelabbers of all ages and of all experience levels.
Pack a lunch, grab your family and your favorite detector and hit the beach at the Indiana Dunes to hunt along other Minelabbers for chances to win great prizes.
For kids of all ages, visit the Treasure Quest tent to learn how to use a Minelab X-TERRA 305 metal detector and then hit a special hunt field to collect special tokens to cash in for prizes. Special tokens will be hidden and if found, you can have a chance to open a treasure chest to win even bigger prizes!
(Please note, there is a $5 per vehicle, parking fee for non-Indiana residents payable at the gate upon arrival.)
FAQ's:
- Hunters must hunt alone, no teams are allowed on the fields.
- Ages for the children's hunt are for boys and girls ages 6-13
- NO PULSE DETECTORS
- NO SIDE BASKETS
- SAND SCOOPS ONLY (scoops will not be provided)
- Pouch Must be a standard Pouch, No Modified Pouch’s.
- HEADPHONES are required for events
- No oversized or Large Coils (W.O.T. Coils, Big Foot Coils).
- Only registered people can hunt in events
- No sharing of registration is permitted
- No one will be permitted in hunt area without a detector, headphones and/or hunt ID
- Please bring proper clothing for the weather
- These events are RAIN OR SHINE (NO RAIN DATE)
- All targets are shallow (no more than four (4”) inches.)
- Any person found to be misusing (salting) the hunt field will be removed without a refund.
- Anyone not following responsible metal detecting practice’s such as covering holes, will be disqualified without a refund.
- Remove all trash from the field, stay off the dunes.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult in the children's hunt.
