9th Annual World Kidney Day

World Kidney Day takes place on March 12, 2020. World Kidney Day is a global health awareness campaign focusing on the importance of the kidneys and reducing the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.

For the past eight years Health & Awareness has taken an active role in raising kidney disease awareness and early kidney disease prevention in Hampton Roads. In 2019 we physically took an active role in over 100 workshops, presentations and health fairs.  The majority of our events took place for the uninsured, underinsured and low-income community which does not have or can’t afford WiFi internet service. Internet service is required to take advantage of the prevention information available from each of the large organization, waiting for the millions of people with kidney disease to contact them. We take it to them – We need your support!

We host events and workshops throughout the year, during the month of March, National Kidney Month we’re hosting our National Kidney Day program event Saturday, March 14, 2020. 9am until 1pm at First Lynnhaven Baptist Church 2744 Robert Jackson Dr. Virginia Beach, VA 23452.  A panel of health professionals, educators, and health resources returning by popular demand to answer questions from the attendees.  

Prior attendees said this program helped improve their communication with their health providers; and health provider said patients attended appointment better prepared.  This program provides patients with the information needed to take an active role in their health care and treatment.

Your support is all it takes to help prevent kidney disease

This program is free and open to the public, all ages, income levels, and races. Therefore, it’s crucial that you encourage your family, friends, neighbors, and employee to attend this free educational Kidney Disease Prevention, early detection program. Information provided helps decrease sick days, ER visits and stays in the hospital, not to mention the epidemic of kidney disease.
