Details

The latest project from local filmmaker Nathan Norby, “The Garden Of Ice” highlights over 50 years of Ice Climbing History in Hyalite Canyon near Bozeman Montana. Originally discovered as an "accident" on a ski tour, the canyon is now one of North America's premiere ice climbing arenas housing over 500+ climbs. This film explores the original pioneers who entered the canyon on wooden skis and wood ice tools to the current generation of inverted climbing and free soloing. Now being one of the busiest roads in Montana, the story also looks into the use case of human traffic on our protected nature areas. The Garden Of Ice is sure to captivate any audience member for any age as the eldest climber is 88 years old and the youngest is still to be born...
