On June 29, 2024, Saint Martin’s Episcopal Church is presenting Blues in the Sanctuary, one of several community

music programs we offer annually. Our featured artists are Lucy Smith and friends. Lucy was born and raised on

the Southside of Chicago. Lucy has led a myriad of musical combinations exploring the worlds of traditional jazz,

blues, gospel and other popular music. If you cannot attend, there are a number of ways you can still support us.

As such, the theme of this year’s event, “Blues Uprising”. It is not only an apt description of reestablishing blues in

our neighborhood but also reclaiming the west side music legacy. At Saint Martin’s, we are committed to building a

just, inclusive community through worship, compassion and the arts.

Blues in the Sanctuary will include live music, a 50/50 raffle, a Silent Auction and much more. There will be food

and beverages available for purchase. Events like these raise funds for programs such as: The Saint Martin of

Austin Repertory Theatre, our scholarship program, as well as free community concerts, and a variety of

workshops and classes.

We would be grateful if you would support this year’s Blues in the Sanctuary: “Blues Uprising”. The amount you

donate is completely up to you. Please help us reach our fundraising goal of $10,000.00.
