Gravity Check Roller Derby Bout
Sometimes the only way to check that gravity still works is to knock someone down.
Find out what happens when bodies collide at high speed at the Gravity Check roller derby bout on Saturday, September 8. Gallatin Roller Derby will establish whether the laws of physics still hold at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds’ Haynes Pavilion, 7:30 PM. Gallatin Roller Derby meets its equal and opposite force in this intra-league game.
Come dressed as a planet, your favorite character from The Big Bang Theory, an astronaut, Humpty Dumpty or Evel Knievel. Costumed attendees aged 18+ get first crack at limited trackside seating (aka The Danger Zone).
This family- friendly event features food by Bubby’s, raffles, games, prizes, and a no-host bar by the American Legion. Join the teams after the bout at the American Legion for the official Gravity Check after party!
Tickets for Gravity Check are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Kids age 10 and under enter for FREE! Advance sale tickets are available at Cactus Records and Gifts or online at grderby.com.
Doors open at 7:00 PM, and the bout begins at 7:30PM. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit HRDC’s Warming Center. We believe everyone deserves a warm, safe place to sleep during the coldest months of the year. This bout is also brought to you in partnership with MSU’s eXtreme Gravity Institute. The eXtreme Gravity Institute (XGI) strives to further our understanding of astrophysics and fundamental physics through extreme gravity phenomena.
Gallatin Roller Derby is a 501(c)3 federal non-profit and achieved WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) full member status in September 2015.
