NOTE: Gatherings are limited to 50 people.
On Sunday, March 7, 2021, St. James Cathedral resumes in-person worship, adapted to the guidelines of the State of Illinois and City of Chicago. We are requiring a FREE ticket so we can manage the number of people. Please arrive by 10:55 a.m. to be guaranteed your reserved seat(s). Walk-ins will be seated in the remaining seats after the opening procession.
We are taking every precaution for your safety. The building has been thoroughly cleaned, and vigorous cleaning and sanitizing continues; our clergy test weekly for COVID-19; seating is distanced; masks are required; the flow of traffic in the aisles is one direction; hand sanitizer is available in abundance; we will wave or bow to each other at the offering of the Peace. Offerings will be made by placing your gift in an offering box. We will refrain from singing but there will be music from the organ and recorded music from the choir over the sound system. And, most importantly, communion will be offered (bread only).
Many of you may want to continue to worship from home using the virtual services we will continue to offer. We encourage that for any who wish to continue distancing. We also encourage you to stay at home if you are not feeling well.
Please visit www.saintjamescathedral.org for more information about procedures and protocols to expect during the service for your comfort and safety.
We look forward to seeing you!
If you would like to make an online offering before or after the service, you may do so by check mailed to the cathedral or online.
