Introducing the comedians that are sure to make us laugh on June 21:

KRIS SHAW (Headliner)

It may just be a live microphone in a small spotlight, but when Kris Shaw steps up to it, the experience is unlike anything you’ve come to expect from standup comedy.

Kris is a storyteller who, with quick bursts of wit and carefully crafted silences, keeps the audience engaged through everyday observations and tough topics alike. His slightly askew but lovable style disarms and charms from the first set-up to the final punch line. There isn’t so much as a hint of meanness in his spirit, and that good energy spills onto the stage and beyond. You will find yourself laughing out loud, delighted at how easily you relate to this uniquely funny guy.

Kris is a fan favorite who tours comedy clubs, colleges and events all across the United States and Canada. He has entertained troops in Iraq, Kuwait, Japan, Korea, Bahrain, Dubai, Kyrgyzstan and Africa. Kris also appears in national television commercials and had a recurring extra role on the CBS drama Close To Home.

Kris can be heard regularly on Kevin Hart’s LOL Network on Sirius Radio.

Kirk is a comic that will definitely give you a workout though laughter ….

His versatility and ability to deliver gut bursting laughs to his audiences sets Kirk McHenry apart from the modern-day comic.  Born and raised in Oakland, California; Kirk has acquired a wealth of knowledge from life in the inner city, to prep school in the suburbs, experiencing college life in the south and even a successful four-year stint in the Marine Corps.

Always viewing life through the eyes of a comic; Kirk blends all of his life experience’s together into a story – telling brand of comedy that has been likened to Bill Cosby with a Richard Pryor twist; having already opened for comedic stars such as Paul Mooney, Bobby Slayton, Gary Own, Charlie Murphy, Tommy Davidson and Eddie Griffin, as well as several musical acts including KEM, Tony Toni Tone, The Whispers, and Howard Hewitt, Kirk continues to leave audiences captivated across globe.  Karma 777 Film Works & Productions has labeled Kirk McHenry as “One of the top 10 comics in the Bary Area”

Drawing inspiration from everyday life his storytelling style of comedy is better that reality TV.  Kirk has had numerous television appearances on BET’s Comic View, One Mic Stand hosted by Kevin Hart, and Jamie Foxx Laffapalooza; as well as serval touring engagements throughout the United States and abroad.

This unforgettable comic’s voice can also be heard as the lead character of Toe Jam om the 2002 video game release of “Toe Jam & Earl III: Mission to Earth.”

Soon to be a household name, Kirk brings his dynamic side-splitting comedy style to the stage every time!

Philadelphia-born comedian Jaye Devan found his funny early as the comic relief among households filled with his sister and cousins.  After graduating, Jaye joined the Marine Corps and got his first exposure to stand up during a talent show on base.  Taking second place with not nearly as significant as the passion he found from telling his stories onstage.  He would spend the next few years honing his craft but upon leaving the Marine Corps found difficulty in balancing civilian life with his passion.

In 2013, fifteen years removed from the stage, Jaye returned to pursue his love for standup.  Armed with a bevy of life experience and knowledge, he approaches comedy from the perspective of an ‘everyday dude’.  His views on relationships/marriage, fatherhood, corporate life and living as a Black man in America and delivered with unfiltered candor and intrepid with.

His credits include The Comedy Store, Comedy Union and Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, LA Comedy Club and the Comedy Cellar in Las Vegas and various clubs around the country.  He recently performed in the Memphis Urban Laughs Comedy Festival, NW Black Comedy Festival and San Diego Comedy Festival and can be seen on Laughs on Fox (Season 2, Episode 18).  He is the former host of his own radio show entitled Everyday Talk with Jaye Devan and current co-host of The Pool Table Talk Podcast. He also released his first recorded standup special, titled ‘Temper Yourself’ on DVD and Amazon Prine

LATHESIA EVERETT will be your Emcee for the evening.
