What should students bring?
Students should bring a large container of loose Legos to build with during the competition.
Students with LEGO kits including lights, batteries, or other electronics will be judged in a separate category for Advanced LEGO Kits, regardless of age. If you are bringing an advanced kit, please purchase an "Advanced Kit Ticket".
What are students building?
Students will be given themes to build a creation based on using their creativity and engineering skills.
What do parents do while students are building?
While students are busy building their creations, parents can hang out in the gym, where the WAMS Quakerbots, Moorestown Robotics and the Moorestown Combustible Lemons will be showing off their robots alongside neighboring FRC teams. Parents will have the opportunity to speak with members of the teams and learn about getting involved in FIRST programs in the community. In the gym, there will be dancing, photobooths, and carnival games. Students are also welcome to stay in the gym before or after their build time.
There will also be a 50/50 raffle in the Cafeteria during the building process.
Will there be food?
There will be dinner options, as well as snacking options available for purchase at the concessions stand. Cash only.
Is this a competition?
Grades K-2 will be building non-competitively, concluding with a parade to the gym for students to show off their designs to proud parents. Grades 3-6 will be building competitively, with members of the Combustible Lemons judging and awarding prizes and trophies to creations that stand out.
What is the Lemons’ goal with LEGO Night?
Our goal with LEGO Night is to introduce young students to Science, Engineering, Math, and Technology and encourage them to pursue their interests, as well as allow them to express their ideas with creativity and ingenuity.
