In this masterpiece by the great 20th-century dramatist Bertolt Brecht, the famous Renaissance scientist Galileo Galilei engages in a brutal struggle for freedom from authoritarian dogma. Unable to resist his appetite for scientific investigation, Galileo comes into conflict with the Inquisition and must publicly renounce his theories, though in private he continues working on his revolutionary ideas. Gordon Carpenter directs a play that couldn't be more relevant in our time! Join our special discussion with Montana State University scholars after each performance.

Bozeman Actors Theatre will present Life of Galileo for six performances: October 12-14 and 19-21, starting at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sundays.
