Opioids and Controlled Substances
New State Mandated Training
Opioid use, misuse, and abuse has risen to epidemic proportions. Scores of legislative and regulatory efforts have been undertaken to attempt to address this issue. Recently, Florida overwhelmingly passed HB 21, signed into law by Governor Scott. Encompassed within this law are changes to how opioids are prescribed and monitored, along with mandatory continuing education. This session, supported by the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, satisfies this State-mandated 2 hour requirement.
