Plein Air Painting Workshop with Greg Scheibel
Join us for three days of painting with Greg Scheibel!
Friday: Evening painting demonstration with the artist
Saturday and Sunday: Outdoor painting in the morning followed by studio time in the afternoon.
Lunch provided Saturday and Sunday!
With a strong connection to the outdoors, Greg has a deep appreciation for the remote locations and unspoiled beauty of the West. Greg paints on location as much as possible. The emotional connection to nature which is the result of these field studies is the foundation for all of his work.
A full-time artist since 2007, Greg has received numerous awards for his work, including Awards of Excellence from the Oil Painters of America on three occasions. He's a signature member of that group, the Northwest Rendezvous Group of Artists, the Montana Painter's Alliance, and the California Art Club. Greg's work can be viewed in Bozeman at Montana Trails Gallery. He also displays at Legacy Gallery in Scottsdale and in galleries in Jackson, Cody, and Saint George. He's been cited as an "Artist to Watch" in Southwest Art Magazine and featured in Western Art Collector, Distinctly Montana, Art of the West, Southwest Art, and Plein Air Magazine.
During the workshop you will receive guidance and instruction while creating your own plein air paintings. Paintings can be in any medium but the artist will focus on oil paint. Participants should plan on bringing their own materials and will receive a materials list once they have registered. If you have questions about supplies or are unable to provide your own, please let us know and we will make sure you are well prepared for the weekend!
