Details
Sharing the Land Prescribed Fire Education Day
November 14 | Weather Backup Date: November 15
Join us for a hands-on day of learning, conservation, and putting prescribed fire to work on the land!
This one-day school is designed for Sharing the Land Landowners and Access Seekers, with registration limited to 25 participants.
This is a FREE event! Donations are welcome and appreciated to help support future conservation education and hands-on opportunities through Sharing the Land.
The day will focus on the importance and application of prescribed fire in oak savanna habitat. Participants will learn about fire behavior, safety, equipment, and burn planning while gaining hands-on experience and connecting with others who share a passion for conservation.
Weather and conditions permitting, participants will have the opportunity to take part in a planned oak savanna burn under the direction of qualified burn leaders.
This is also an opportunity for Access Seekers to gain valuable conservation experience to add to their STL Conservation Resume, while building skills and relationships that may lead to future conservation projects on STL properties.
We'll also be officially unveiling the Sharing the Land Conservation Trailer, a new resource equipped to support hands-on conservation work on participating properties throughout Wisconsin!
